NTD medicines की supply chain: forecasting, customs और inventory data से मरीजों तक पहुंच क्यों तय होती है

WHO ने 13 अक्टूबर 2026 को neglected tropical diseases (NTD) programmes और medicines supply chains पर हुई बैठकों की जानकारी दी। focus forecasting, supply planning, data visibility, customs clearance, inventory management और accountability को बेहतर बनाने पर था।

इस विषय का महत्व यह है कि medicine availability केवल factory या donation से तय नहीं होती। programme planning से लेकर request, shipment, customs, storage, distribution और use तक हर चरण में delay या information gap हो सकता है। WHO ने countries को parallel systems बनाने के बजाय national logistics systems के साथ alignment बढ़ाने पर जोर दिया।

Report में कुछ country experiences भी हैं, जैसे validated standard operating procedures और clearance time कम करने की कोशिशें। ये examples operational progress दिखाते हैं; इन्हें हर disease programme या हर देश में समान परिणाम की गारंटी की तरह नहीं पढ़ना चाहिए।

2030 की ओर बढ़ते समय forecasting को treatment needs, stock, programme change और funding के साथ नियमित रूप से update करना जरूरी बताया गया। मरीज के स्तर पर इसका अर्थ यह है कि public-health medicines की continuity का संबंध कई invisible systems से होता है, केवल prescription से नहीं।
